Stolen Market Bread from Aladdin

Haven’t you always wanted to break bread with Aladdin in the streets of Agrabah? Well now you can with this simple bread recipe! There is nothing I love more than fresh homemade bread. And with simple recipe you can make it at home too. Get ready to thank me for this recipe cause you ain’t never had a friend like me.

Stolen Market Bread From Aladdin

A Simple yet delicious recipe for homemade bread.

Equipment

  • Standing Mixer with dough hook attachment

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbs Sugar
  • 1 Package of instant active dry yeast
  • 2 Tbs Olive Oil
  • 1 1/2 Cups Warm Water
  • 1 Egg For egg wash
  • Extra Flour for Dusting

Instructions
 

  • In the bowl of a standing mixer fitted with a dough hook, add warm water, yeast, sugar, and oil. Mix for 1 minute.
  • Add flour and salt and mix for 5 minutes until dough is tacky and smooth.
  • Remove dough from bowl and knead a few times on wooden cutting board. Form dough ball with edges tucked underneath.
  • Spray nonstick spray into large bowl. Place dough in bowl and cover with plastic wrap and towel.
  • Let dough rise for 1-2 hours until dough has doubled in size. (Tip: keeping the dough somewhere warm and draft free will help it rise the quickest.)
  • Preheat your oven to 350 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • When dough is ready remove plastic wrap, deflate dough and transfer to a lightly floured workspace.
  • Cut dough into 2 equal pieces and form into loaves. Place each loaf onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure loaves are seem side down. Cut 3 slits into the top of each loaf.
  • Cover with a lint free towel and allow them to rise for 1 hour.
  • After dough has risen, deepen your knife slits an evenly brush tops with egg wash.
  • Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool fully before breaking and enjoy!
