Breakfast Congee from Mulan

This Breakfast is sure to make a man out of you! A play on a traditional Chinese Congee topped with bacon and eggs. It’s really easy to make and delicious. No crickets were harmed in the making of this recipe.

Breakfast Congee From Mulan

This recipe is a play on a traditional Chinese Congee. Easy to make and really delicious.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Jasmine Rice
  • 8 Cups Water
  • 1 Tbs Piece of Fresh Ginger
  • 1-2 Tbs Green Onion
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Chicken Bouillon powder
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Strips of Bacon

Instructions
 

  • Start by rinsing rice in a large bowl and draining the water.
  • Boil 8 cups of water in a pan with a lid.
  • After water is boiling add rice and stir only a few times. Partially cover pot with lid and cook on medium heat for 25 minutes.
  • While congee is cooking. Thinly slice ginger into strips. Chop green onions.
  • Cook two eggs easy side up and set them on a plate until ready to plate dish.
  • Fry two pieces of bacon and set aside until ready to plate dish.
  • After congee is finished cooking for 25 minutes remove from the heat and stir in fresh ginger, green onions, salt, chicken bouillon, and sesame oil.
  • Pour Congee into serving bowl. Top with Eggs, Bacon and enjoy!
