  • Piping bag
  • Large Star Tip
  • Parchment Paper
  • Food Processor
  • Cookie Cutter
  • tombstone mold

Ingredients

Tombstones

  • 1 package melting milk chocolates

Cookies

  • 1 cup butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbs melted Butter

  • 2 containers Cool Whip
  • 12 Oreos remove frosting
  • 1-2 drops black Food coloring

Garnish

  • red velvet cake sliced into 12 bite size pieces can be store bought
  • Halloween sprinkles
  • Oreo cookie crumbles

Instructions

Tombstones

  • Heat chocolate according to package directions. Fill molds with melted chocolate. Use an icing spatula to scrape off all excess chocolate till the backs are smooth. Place in freezer for 5 minutes to set chocoate. Then remove tombstones from the mold. Repeat untill you have 12.

Cookies

  • Preheat oven to 325 F
  • In a standing mixer, or with hand mixer, cream your butter. Add your confecioners sugar and mix till well combined.
  • Add flour and cocoa powder, and melted butter and mix with a spatula till dough just starts to come together. (if too crumbly add additional tablespoon of melted butter.)
  • Remove from bowl onto a cutting board and form dough by hand.
  • Once dough is ready lighlty dust your cutting board with powder sugar and roll out dough with a rolling pin to 1/4 inch thick.
  • Using cookie cutter of your choice cut out 12 cookies.
  • Bake on a parment paper lined cookie sheet for 12 mins.
  • Let cool completely before using!

Frosting

  • While the cookies are cooling begin to prepare the frosting.
  • Half your Oreo cookies and remove the frosting inside. Then crush oreos to a fine powder if your food processor.
  • In a large bowl combine Cool Whip, crushed Oreos, and black food coloring. (The food coloring is optional, but I recommend it to give the frosting a more grey color.)
  • Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate untill ready to use.

Time to assemble the cookies

  • Once cookies are completely cooled fill a piping bag (that has the large star tip inside) with the frosting. (it will not all fit in the piping bag at once) Place a piece of bite size red velvet cake in the middle of each cookie and pipe frosting around it in a swirl untill desired height is achieved. Garnish with Halloween sprinkles, cookie crumbs, and a tombstone on the front. And enjoy!
