Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting

One of my favorite treats to bake during fall! These pumpkin cinnamon rolls are so delicious and the perfect cozy fall treat! Your family and friends will love them I promise!

Equipment

  • Standing Mixer with dough hook

Ingredients
  

Dough

  • 3/4 cup milk (warm)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 package instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 whole egg (at room temperatrue)
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie extract
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Filling

  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbs cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter (at room temperature)

Frosting

  • 1 package cream cheese (at room temerature)
  • 1 cup powder sugar
  • 2 Tbs Maple Syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbs milk

Instructions
 

  • Warm milk in microwave safe bowl for 40 seconds. transfer to mixing bowl of a standing mixer. Add Yeast packet and granulated sugar and mix well.
  • Stir in egg, melted butter, pumpkin puree, extracts, and pumpkin pie spices and mix well.
  • Place dough hook on mixer. Then add flour 1 cup at a time untill fully incorporated and then knead dough for 8 minutes.
  • Transfer dough to a large greased bowl. Cover with platic wrap and towel and allow to rise for 1.5 hours or untill dough has doubled in size.
  • Transfer dough to a well flour surface. Using a rolling pin roll out dough flat.

For the Filling.

  • Mix all filling ingredients in a seperate bowl.
  • Spread the filling evenly on the dough. Then tightly roll up the dough and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  • Line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper and grease sides of the pan.
  • Place cinnamon rolls in baking dish.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and allow them to rise for 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile preheat your over to 350 degrees F.
  • Bake cinnamon rolls for 25 minutes untill just lightly golden brown on the edges.

For the frosting

  • In your standing mixer whip cream cheese relly well. Add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract and mix. Lastly add your maple syrup and mix.
  • Once the cinnamon rolls are done remove them from the over and allow them to cool fo 10 minutes before adding the frosting.
  • Top with cinnamon and enjoy!
